Polygon Labs CEO: Prejudice against Indian co-founder hinders the development of the internet
PANews, November 26- According to Cryptoslate, Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron attributed the difficulty of Polygon's network gaining wider adoption in this field to racial bias against its co-founder Sandeep Nailwal. In a post posted on X platform on November 25th, Boiron hinted that Nailwal's Indian heritage has led to bias and hindered Polygon's recognition, despite its widespread use in the entire blockchain industry. He wrote, "If Sandeep were not Indian, then Web3 would have embraced Polygon on a large scale, rather than treating it as a second-class citizen even when Polygon's proof of stake is more commonly used than the sum of all blockchains When a user in the cryptocurrency community argued that Indians hold important positions in major technology companies around the world, Boiron responded that geographic location also plays a role. He pointed out that Indians like Sreeram Kannan from EigenLayer in Western countries face much less prejudice compared to those working in India. At the same time, there are still differences within the broader Web3 community on this issue. Some users believe that the challenges faced by Polygon stem from competition from the emerging Ethereum Layer2 network or the network's own strategies, rather than bias.
