According to Finomy, a civil lawsuit has been initiated against approximately 20 employees regarding the performance bonus payment issue between South Korean gaming company WeMade and its virtual asset WEMIX (WEMIX). The Civil Division 42 of the Seoul Central District Court has held its first debate preparation meeting on this case. The plaintiff is a former and current employee of WeMadeTree, a former subsidiary of WeMade. They claim to have signed a WEMIX development compensation agreement with the company and provided an email as evidence of the company's commitment to compensation. However, WeMade denies any verbal agreement and only acknowledges notifying employees about the basic compensation plan. They point out that due to unclear legal regulations and accounting standards for virtual assets, the company faces accounting uncertainty and criminal breach of trust risks from management, and therefore cannot directly sign compensation contracts. The trial department pointed out that the plaintiff's flaw lies in the lack of a written contract, but at the same time, it is unreasonable for the defendant to refuse to pay any compensation as a result. The next debate on the case is scheduled for the morning of March 21st. WeMade expressed willingness to negotiate with company members to develop specific compensation plans and contracts.
