The UK Financial Conduct Authority appoints David Geale as Managing Director of Payments and Digital Finance

According to Crowdfunding Insider, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK has appointed David Geale as an Executive Director of the Payment Systems Regulatory Authority (PSR), who also serves as the head of the Payment and Digital Finance department. Geale has been serving as the acting director of PSR since June 2024. Geale has served for over 20 years at FCA and its predecessor, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), where he served as Director of Retail Banking and led multiple policy reforms such as the Retail Distribution Review during Brexit. Recently, he has been responsible for formulating regulatory frameworks for encrypted assets, savings interest rate policies, and reform plans for the mortgage market.
