Coinbase reveals personal data of 69461 users leaked in leak incident
According to Foresight News, Coinbase has revealed that personal data of 69461 users was leaked in the December 2024 incident. Coinbase previously stated that the data breach affected less than 1% of users and leaked Know Your Customer (KYC) information such as name, address, and email. The company stated in its submission to the US Securities and Exchange Commission that passwords, private keys, and user funds were not affected. Coinbase estimates that this matter may require approximately $180 million and $400 million in remediation and customer compensation costs.
