Vietnamese police arrest gang suspected of planning cryptocurrency scam 'Matrix Chain', which has defrauded investors of nearly $400 million
According to Foresight News, Vietnamese police have arrested a gang suspected of planning the cryptocurrency scam "Matrix Chain", which has defrauded investors of nearly $400 million. The suspected pyramid scheme fraud gang established a multi-level system spanning three regions in Vietnam, misleading investors to download Matrix Chain software by paying a symbolic fee of only 1 USDT. The funds were eventually misappropriated by the gang, which has over 185000 registered accounts, of which 394.2 million USDT was deposited and transferred through encrypted wallets. Four men and one woman (born between 1980 and 1991) have been detained, and the police are searching their homes and workplaces.
