According to a report by the Financial Times, Anthony Pompliano, a well-known American cryptocurrency KOL, plans to become the CEO of ProCapBTC, a publicly traded company. The company is in talks with SPAC platform Columbus Circle Capital 1 for a merger and plans to raise $750 million to purchase Bitcoin. Among them, $500 million will be raised through equity financing, and $250 million will be raised through convertible bonds. Columbus Circle Capital 1 is owned by Cohen& Supported by investment banking, the company completed a $250 million IPO at the end of May.
According to informed sources, the transaction could be announced as early as next week, but specific terms are still under negotiation. ProCapBTC will adopt a Bitcoin configuration strategy similar to MicroStrategy. Pompliano just raised $220 million for its independently operated SPAC platform last month.
