Bloomberg: Slovenia proposes taxation on personal income from cryptocurrency

--

According to BlockBeats, on April 18th, Bloomberg reported that the Slovenian Ministry of Finance is soliciting opinions to propose a 25% tax on profits obtained by individuals from the disposal of cryptocurrency assets. The proposal was released on Thursday, aimed at filling a loophole in the country's tax system. The existing system taxes commercial income from cryptocurrency trading, but exempts natural persons from investing in buying and selling cryptocurrency assets. The deadline for soliciting opinions on the proposal is May 5th. If approved by the parliament, it is expected to take effect on January 1, 2026.
