[Kyrgyzstan Issues $50 Million Stablecoin and Suspends Nationwide Crypto Mining Operations] Kyrgyzstan has issued the national stablecoin USDKG, with an initial batch of approximately 50.14 million units, each with a nominal value of $1. The stablecoin is issued by a state-owned enterprise controlled by the Ministry of Finance and backed by gold reserves, intended for use in cross-border payments and trade. The government plans to increase the allocation to approximately $500 million, with a final target of around $2 billion. Additionally, Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev announced that due to power shortages, all crypto mining operations nationwide have been disconnected from electricity and the internet, with consumption restrictions implemented. Meanwhile, electricity is being imported from neighboring countries (including Russia) to alleviate energy pressures.
