On August 19th, former US President Trump stated that he would try to facilitate a trilateral agreement between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia. He pointed out during a meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky that he did not believe a ceasefire agreement was necessary and stated that negotiations could be conducted while continuing the fighting.
