Quite unexpected. The first time I met Boss Xu was back in 2017, at a lecture in a Beijing incubator. He was the second guest speaker, and I was the third. His eloquence left a lasting impression on me to this day. He started by teasing the audience, saying he was contributing to the Ethereum network. Just as everyone was puzzled, he revealed that he was an Ethereum PoW miner—security contributions are still contributions (and profitable too). Only then did the audience have their 'aha' moment. Fast forward to today, I’ve become an Ethereum PoS validator, but I’m still borrowing wisdom from Boss Xu from ten years ago, often saying that we’re contributing to the Ethereum network. In the past, I used to encourage others, saying that once you hit middle age, you’ve got to focus on exercising more. But after the regretful incident with Teacher Zhang and Boss Xu’s illness, I no longer dare to casually advise people. I just hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
