The Bitcoin ETF rules formulated by the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission will come into effect on October 16th, and Bitcoin will be included in the first stage of eligible assets. The average net exposure of the relevant funds in each accounting year must reach at least 80% of the net asset value, and the custodian institution must obtain permission from the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission. Thai mutual funds and private equity funds are allowed to invest in locally listed cryptocurrency ETFs, but are initially prohibited from issuing and providing depositary receipts related to overseas cryptocurrency ETFs.
