A retired woman in Hong Kong suffered losses of over HKD 4.5 million due to cryptocurrency investment fraud According to AASTOCKS, the Hong Kong police have posted on the social media platform "Guardian" that they have received over 50 reports of investment fraud in the past week, involving losses of over HKD 30 million. Among them, a retired woman in her sixties met a man who claimed to be interested in renting a house through a housing buying and selling platform. The man recommended cryptocurrency investment as an investment expert and sent false investment website links to induce him to invest funds with high returns. \The woman followed the instructions and went to the physical cryptocurrency exchange store 20 times to purchase USDT, which was then transferred to a designated wallet and nominally used for investing ETH. Due to the successful withdrawal of some funds in the initial stage, she continued to make additional investments. Until she raised the issue again, the other party demanded to pay USDT worth about HKD 7 million as taxes, and she only realized that she had been deceived, ultimately losing over HKD 4.5 million.
