Dominic Williams accuses NEAR Intents of infringing DFINITY's intellectual property rights On October 22nd, DFINITY founder Dominic Williams accused NEAR Intents of using proprietary threshold ECDSA signature technology developed by DFINITY for their chain abstraction architecture, which is only authorized for use in Internet computers. Dominic Williams stated that the NEAR team integrated the algorithm into an open-source threshold cryptography library and ran it on 8 servers, questioning its level of decentralization and user asset security. Dominic Williams stated that NEAR attempted to downgrade the algorithm, believing that NEAR's early launch of the product would harm the ecological interests of DFINITY and ICP.
