The Winklevoss brothers and Barry Silbert are vying for control of the Zcash ecosystem.
On October 23, the Winklevoss brothers, founders of Gemini, and Barry Silbert, founder of DCG, began competing in the Zcash ecosystem. Cypherpunk Technologies and Fortitude Mining, backed by both companies, have become major ZEC miners and plan to invest tens of millions of dollars to expand their computing power. Currently, Cypherpunk accounts for 20% of the total network computing power, and Fortitude's share is also expected to reach approximately 20%. Regarding investment products, Grayscale, a subsidiary of DCG, launched a Zcash ETF in the US in August, and the Winklevoss brothers submitted their Zcash ETF application this month.
