Toni Wahrstätter: EIP-8037 has compatibility issues, delaying the Glamsterdam upgrade.
Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrstätter stated that due to compatibility and security issues revealed in a ChainSecurity report regarding EIP-8037 and some smart contracts, core developers have decided to postpone the Hoodi testnet upgrade to Glamsterdam. Issues have been identified, including an increase in remaining gas during transaction execution causing gas count logic underflow and triggering rollbacks, and some contracts underestimating gas usage. ChainSecurity has identified 13 real-world cases and is disclosing them. Toni Wahrstätter stated that the relevant contracts will be investigated and solutions evaluated this week, reminding developers to check their contracts for compatibility with EIP-8037 and EIP-8038.

The impact of Toni Wahrstätter: EIP-8037 on contract interactions has been clearly defined.
Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrstätter stated that the ChainSecurity report reveals that EIP-8037 affects contract interactions. Contracts that hardcode the forwarding of Gas are affected by Gas repricing, and some invariants on which the coding pattern depends are broken, causing the gasleft() value to rise, leading to counter underflow or subcall anomalies. Furthermore, the measurement of the GAS opcode may underestimate usage. Toni Wahrstätter calls on application developers and auditors to investigate and report any issues related to EIP-8037/EIP-8038 in their contracts.

Galaxy Research: Approximately 11.1 million bitcoins cannot be associated with any known entity.
A snapshot from Galaxy Research in October shows that of the approximately 20.1 million mined Bitcoins, about 11.1 million (55%) cannot be linked to any known entity such as exchanges, funds, or governments. Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Research, stated that this reflects a large amount of Bitcoin potentially being held in private custody. Xapo Bank believes this reflects over a decade of retail investor participation. Unclaimed Bitcoins may also include those with lost private keys, unidentified institutional holdings, or fragmented custodial assets. The remaining 45% of Bitcoins have been attributed, with Satoshi Nakamoto (Patoshi model) holding 1.1237 million BTC.
