Bank of America predicts the Fed's October press conference may not include a Q&A session, analyzing Warsh's communication strategy.

--

Bank of America predicts that Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's October press conference will continue the brief format of September, lasting approximately 30 minutes and possibly without a Q&A session. Bank of America analysts believe that if the Fed raises interest rates, Chairman Warsh will need to emphasize high inflation and a strong economy; if rates remain unchanged, he will need to guard against market doubts about the Fed's credibility. Bank of America maintains its assessment that the Fed will raise interest rates in December 2026 and March 2027, and notes that if inflation stickiness exceeds expectations in the first half of 2027, a rate hike cannot be ruled out.
