U.S. Vice President Vance posted on the X platform that the Republican Party's midterm election loss was not due to a decline in voter turnout, but rather because a large number of voters who voted for Trump and Vance in 2024 switched to the Democratic Party in the 2026 midterm elections.
Vance, citing pollsters, stated that the main reasons voters turned away from the Republican Party included ending the war, focusing on the cost of living and inflation, adhering to "America First," and changing relations with Israel. Vance believes the war was the real reason for the defeat and claims that proponents of amnesty and other similar policies are lying.
