Hardware wallet maker Foundation was hacked, exposing 21,500 customer email addresses.

--

Hardware wallet maker Foundation says attackers exploited vulnerabilities in Cal.com's appointment software and Bank-Vaults to steal credentials and access customer records, email systems, and domain settings. The intrusion began on October 21, and attackers sent phishing emails to 21,463 email addresses on October 25. The leaked information included names, home addresses, phone numbers, order records, customer service communications, and partial payment card information. Scammers used the stolen purchase and payment information to call customers, tricking them into providing their Bitcoin wallet mnemonic phrases. The foundation stated that employee accounts and devices were unharmed, funds stored in Passport devices are safe, and it will reduce its self-custodied infrastructure and shift to custodial services.
