Backpack Exchange Appoints Citibank Executive Laurence King as Audit Director

According to official sources, Backpack Exchange, a cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the appointment of Laurence King as its audit director. This is another major personnel appointment for Backpack after Stripe and Credit Suisse executive Oliver Sleffer joined as CFO in March this year. King has nearly 30 years of experience leading internal audit and risk functions in global financial institutions. Prior to joining Backpack, he served as the audit director for multiple countries in Citibank's Asia Pacific region and the regulatory engagement director for Citibank's Asia Pacific region. Previously, he held senior management positions in multiple financial institutions, including the Executive Director of IT Regulatory Risk at Morgan Stanley Asia Pacific, the Global Head of ITGC Audit at Deutsche Bank, and the Head of IT Audit in the Asia Pacific region, as well as the Head of IT Risk at JPMorgan Chase Asia Pacific. He will lead Backpack to establish a first-class internal audit function and oversee its global audit process, ensuring that Backpack not only complies with strict regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions, but also enhances transparency to users and raises new audit standards in the industry.
