According to Bitcoin.com, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior issued a statement on April 22 declaring cryptocurrency mining an illegal activity, stating that it violates multiple laws in the country and puts pressure on electricity infrastructure. This ban involves laws such as the Amendment to the Criminal Law No. 31 of 1970, the Communication and Information Technology Regulation Law No. 37 of 2014, the Industrial Law No. 56 of 1996, and the Municipal Regulations No. 33 of 2016. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior stated that unauthorized cryptocurrency mining has led to "excessive consumption of electricity and energy, increasing the load on the public power grid," causing power outages in residential, commercial, and industrial areas, and affecting the supply of basic services. This warning is jointly issued by the Ministry of Electric Power, Water Resources and Renewable Energy, the General Administration of Communications and Information Technology, the General Administration of Industry, and municipal departments. The authorities require relevant mining entities to "immediately rectify" and emphasize that legal measures will be taken against violators, including transferring them to the investigation department for handling.
