Researcher: The solution to the cryptocurrency "Lazarus" problem may be simpler than imagined According to a report by Golden Finance, in just over 18 months, North Korean hackers, including the notorious "Lazarus" organization, used the same "hijacked multisig" technology to steal over $1.75 billion worth of cryptocurrency. During the same period, this number far exceeded all other losses in the field. However, a potential solution may exist and it may be simpler than people imagine. Senior security researcher Daniel Von Fange (previously employed at Origin Protocol) proposed in a post on social platform X that a step can be added to a typical multi signature workflow. This change will insert an unexpectedly simple 'sanity check' between signature and execution for any approved operation, for final approval.
