Data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) shows that cryptocurrency ATM scams resulted in $240 million in losses in the first half of 2025, approximately double the amount during the same period in 2024. Spokane, Washington, has completely banned cryptocurrency ATMs, becoming the largest city in the U.S. to implement such a ban. Additionally, Arizona, Arkansas, Vermont, and St. Paul, Minnesota, are discussing similar restrictions. Currently, 80% of cryptocurrency ATMs worldwide are located in the United States.
