Odaily Planet Daily News: Ripple's Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz recently clarified that he is not a billionaire, despite speculation about his personal wealth during the sharp rise of XRP in 2018. At that time, Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen's net worth surged to $54 billion, mainly due to his holdings of 9 billion XRPs. When XRP reached its peak, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse's net worth was also close to $10 billion. Unlike his colleagues, Schwartz chose a 2% stake and salary in Ripple instead of XRP. In 2019, Forbes estimated his wealth to be around $90 million, and by 2021, Schwartz pointed out that his net worth was still "far below $170 million". He also admitted that most of his personal wealth is tied to volatile assets, and although he is satisfied with the returns, he still faces risks. In addition to XRP, Schwartz also confirmed that he holds Bitcoin and several other altcoins. It is worth mentioning that, driven by the rapid rise of XRP, Larsen's net assets increased by $6 billion in just one month.
