According to Crypto In America, Hester Peirce, who has served as the Republican seat on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since her appointment by President Trump in 2018, stated in an interview that she hopes to complete her work as soon as possible before the end of her term, implying that she will not seek re-election. Peirce currently serves as the head of the SEC Cryptocurrency Task Force, dedicated to providing regulatory clarity for digital assets. She stated that although her term will expire in June, she hopes to resolve the issue as soon as possible and avoid setting up a dedicated encryption task force. Peirce also emphasized that she attaches great importance to protecting peer-to-peer interaction between developers and users, and supports providing clearer regulations for the cryptocurrency market, especially in areas such as staking.
