Odaily Planet Daily News: According to sources cited by the Financial Times, Microsoft and its largest investment partner OpenAI are renegotiating their investment agreement. Microsoft may give up some of its equity in OpenAI in order to continue obtaining the right to use its AI products and models after certain terms of the original agreement expire in 2030. Since 2019, Microsoft has invested over $13 billion in OpenAI. This negotiation coincides with OpenAI's restructuring period, as it plans to transform into a public interest company controlled by non-profit entities. The plan was previously opposed by co founders and early investors, including Elon Musk. On May 5th of this year, OpenAI announced that it would abandon its transition to a pure profit model. This protocol is crucial for the governance structure adjustment and future development of OpenAI. (Cointelegraph)
