According to Decrypt, the Alabama Securities Commission in the United States has recovered $125000 in cryptocurrency assets from two victims of "pig killing" scams. In two cases, scammers contacted victims through Bumble dating app and WhatsApp ads, inducing them to transfer money to fake investment platforms, resulting in a total loss of $580000. One of the victims attempted to raise the issue of being required to pay "taxes and fees" and noticed something unusual. Alabama regulatory agencies have stated that the recovery rate of funds in such cross-border fraud cases is generally low, and timely reporting is a key factor in recovering losses.
