According to a report by Golden Finance, former semi professional rugby player Shane Donovan Moore has been sentenced to 2 and a half years in federal prison for operating a false cryptocurrency mining scam. Between January 2021 and October 2022, Moore deceived over 40 investors through Quantum Donovan LLC, obtaining over $900000 in funds. He promised investors a daily mining profit of 1%, but actually used the funds for personal consumption such as purchasing luxury apartments, luxury goods, and electronic products, while paying small returns to early investors in a Ponzi scheme to maintain the scam.
