The UK Treasury plans to sell over £ 5 billion worth of Bitcoin assets to alleviate the fiscal shortfall
Odaily Planet Daily News: UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves is considering selling the Bitcoin assets seized by the police to make up for the public finance gap. This batch of assets is valued at over £ 5 billion, including 61000 bitcoins seized from a Chinese Ponzi scheme in 2018, whose current value has increased by about 20 times. To support the relevant plan, the UK Home Office is promoting the establishment of a "crypto asset custody and disposal framework" to unify the management and sale of such assets. At present, the project is in the bidding stage, with a maximum commission limit of £ 40 million for sale. (telegraph)
