Taiwan's Weighted Index closed up nearly 0.8% on Monday; Indonesia's stock market hit a record high with a 1% gain; South Korea's stock market rose over 3%, just shy of its historical peak, almost recovering all losses from last week, and marked its strongest single-day performance since early April. The MSCI Emerging Asia Stock Index and the Pan-Asia Stock Index excluding Japan both rose over 1%, while the Global Emerging Markets Stock Index climbed more than 1%, reaching a two-week high. IG Australia's market analyst Tony Sycamore stated that the reopening of the U.S. government has restored key services, but the tax refund plan still depends on congressional approval and tariff revenues, raising doubts about its feasibility.
