According to information from the White House, South Korea plans to invest $150 billion in the U.S. shipbuilding industry and has committed to a total of $200 billion in strategic investments. The U.S. has authorized South Korea to build nuclear-powered attack submarines, while South Korea has pledged to purchase $25 billion worth of U.S. military equipment by 2030 and plans to increase its defense spending to 3.5% of GDP.
