[Data: By 2025, the proportion of recovered illicit funds in the crypto sector is approximately 11%, with a recovery rate 55 times that of fiat currency] According to a report by Jinse Finance on May 16, Binance Research posted on the X platform stating that by 2025, approximately 11% of illicit crypto funds will be recovered or frozen, a recovery rate 55 times higher than that of the fiat currency system. This data is derived from publicly disclosed enforcement actions by Tether, Interpol, the T3 Financial Crime Unit, and others, rather than estimates from a single institution. In comparison, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) estimates that less than 1% of illicit fiat funds are recovered globally each year. Even excluding the special case of approximately $15 billion in BTC from the Prince Group case, the recovery rate for crypto assets in 2025 is still about 10 times that of the fiat currency system. Data from SlowMist and PeckShield indicates that approximately 8.3%–13.2% of stolen funds in 2025 will be recovered or frozen, reflecting the rapid response and close collaboration between exchanges, issuers, and law enforcement agencies.
