The US House Agriculture Committee urges Trump to nominate CFTC commissioners
Glenn Thompson, Chairman of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, and members of the committee sent a letter to Trump urging the prompt nomination of the complete CFTC five member committee. The letter pointed out that the current CFTC is only led by Chairman Michael Selig, and if the CLARITY Act is passed, the CFTC will face significant rule making tasks, and a complete leadership team is crucial. At present, Trump has not announced any nominations, which need to be reviewed and voted on by the Senate.
