[Circle's cirBTC issuance surpasses 5,000 tokens, growing over 100 times in two months] According to a report by Jinse Finance on September 26, citing Crypto Briefing, the issuance of Circle's wrapped Bitcoin product cirBTC (Circle Wrapped Bitcoin) has exceeded 5,000 tokens, compared to approximately 40 tokens in mid-August, marking a growth of over 100 times within a few months. cirBTC was launched on June 8, 2026, and each token is backed 1:1 by one native Bitcoin held in custody by Circle National Trust (a federally licensed trust bank), with on-chain real-time verification enabled through Chainlink's proof of reserves. As of September 24, its circulating supply is approximately 4,300.68 tokens, with reserves of about 4,448.19 BTC, maintaining a support ratio higher than 1:1. Users can mint and redeem cirBTC through Circle Mint, which shares the same API as USDC. The token is available on the Ethereum mainnet and Circle's proprietary L1 network, Arc. Its primary use case is to borrow USDC using cirBTC as collateral, eliminating the need to sell Bitcoin.
