Its operating entity, Open Standard, has identified payments, banking, settlements, and institutional trading as target application scenarios. Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa have become the first founding partners and investors of Open Standard, each receiving an equal initial equity stake in the company. Open Standard CEO Zach Abrams stated that the vast majority of the company's equity will ultimately be allocated based on the contributions of founding partners and other collaborators to the growth of OUSD supply and transaction activity.
