International Monetary Fund: More than half of tokenized US stock transactions occur outside of regular hours
The International Monetary Fund pointed out that tokenized US stocks support round the clock trading and zero share holding, with over half of the trading occurring outside of regular market trading hours, and about 80% of the trading involving less than one share. Overnight price fluctuations contain valuable information, with over 85% of price changes reflected in traditional stock prices within 5 minutes of market opening. The tokenized stock market is relatively small and decentralized, which can improve settlement and automation processes, but requires strengthened legal, liquidity, and interoperability safeguards.
