Caroline Pham: CFTC Can Regulate Crypto Markets Without Congressional Authorization
Former Acting Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Caroline Pham, stated that the CFTC does not require congressional authorization to regulate crypto markets. She also mentioned that the recently proposed rules could provide protection for U.S. retail crypto traders. Pham believes tokenized deposits are more suitable for wholesale markets, as atomic settlements could require $15 trillion in cash in a single day, while the market lacks the instant liquidity of such scale. Additionally, Pham predicts that within the next two years, the NYSE and Nasdaq are likely to list tokenized stocks and generate significant trading volumes. (Source: The Block)
