When companies grow big and strong, taking on social responsibility is actually super important. Binance just won an award in Hong Kong – the 'Timely Rain Fund Outstanding Contribution Award' from the Community Chest of Hong Kong for their aid during the Tai Po fire. After the fire last year, they donated HK$10 million. I casually looked into it, and they’ve done quite a bit over the years: 1/ In 2018, they established Binance Charity, using blockchain as a donation channel. Their first stop was Uganda, partnering with local organizations to help 100,000 kids go to school. 2/ In 2020, during the pandemic, they launched a global fundraising campaign. In Kenya, they funded a mask project that helped local women earn money. 3/ In 2022, for Ukraine, they first donated $10 million, then sent $2.5 million in BUSD to the UNHCR. That was the first stablecoin donation the UNHCR ever received. They also issued cards to Ukrainian refugees, giving them 75 BUSD per month for three months. 4/ In 2023, after the Turkey and Syria earthquake, they donated to Mercy Corps and the Red Crescent. They also airdropped $100 in BNB to users in the disaster zone. That same year, they responded to the Morocco earthquake, Libya floods, and Mexico hurricane. 5/ In 2024, for the Valencia floods in Spain, they donated $3 million to the Spanish Red Cross. They also airdropped BNB for the Central European floods, Bosnia floods, and Vietnam typhoon. 6/ In 2025, after the Myanmar and Thailand earthquakes, they teamed up with CZ to donate $1.5 million. For the southern Taiwan floods, they airdropped $1.2 million in BNB. They also followed up on disasters in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. 7/ From 2026 to now, they’ve donated $3 million for the Venezuela earthquake, $650,000 for the Colombia earthquake, and provided aid for the Ghana floods. In eight years, they’ve donated over $47 million, covering 87 countries and regions, helping more than 4.2 million people.
