Nvidia's share of AI chips in China has dropped to 34%, while local manufacturers such as Huawei have seen an increase in their share

According to an IDC report, in the first half of 2026, Nvidia's market share in the Chinese data center AI chip market dropped to 34%, with AI accelerator shipments reaching 678000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 44%. Affected by US export controls, Huawei's AI accelerator shipments have increased to 572000 units, accounting for 28% of the market share. Pingtou Ge holds a 7% share, Cambrian holds a 5% share, Kunlun Xin holds a 4% share, and Haiguang Information holds a 3% share. Among the 11 Chinese chip manufacturers tracked by IDC, 9 have seen an increase in shipments compared to a year ago. (Source: Reuters)
