Jeremy Blair: Circle plans to enter 40 emerging countries, blockchain moves towards mainstream scale
Circle CEO Jeremy Blair stated that Circle is advancing into approximately 40 emerging and developing countries, with increasing demand for stablecoins in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, and blockchain technology moving towards mainstream scaling. Jeremy Blair said that the GENIUS Act, which will come into effect in January next year, will enable the world to have a legal digital dollar. Circle's expansion is supported by the $400 million acquisition of Tazapay and a $100 million strategic investment from Binance. As of the second quarter, USDC circulation increased by 19% year-on-year to $73.3 billion. Jeremy Aler stated that machine to machine trading between AI agents has driven the growth of USDC usage, but the development of AI has exacerbated security risks. (Source: Reuters)
