The UK government has invested £100 million in the AI Biosecurity Lab, with OpenAI and Anthropic providing up to £200 million in AI model funding, and Google DeepMind and Basecamp Research participating in the collaboration. The UK government has also allocated an additional £65 million for pathogen response research, provided an additional £120 million to the AI Security Institute, an additional £23 million to the AI Economics Institute, and invested £130 million to strengthen cybersecurity for critical infrastructure.
