Early results of the 2026 US midterm elections are in, with the Democratic Party temporarily leading in both houses of Congress.

--

The 2026 US midterm elections will be held on November 4th. As of 8 PM ET on November 3rd, the Senate Democrats maintained 43 seats and Republicans 32, while the House Democrats held 45 seats and Republicans 19. Democrats performed strongly in early voting in eastern states, but vote counting is still underway in western polling stations, and overall control remains uncertain. If Republicans lose, President Trump's legislative dominance for the remainder of his term will be limited, and Democrats may take control of relevant committees, potentially delaying regulatory legislation such as the Clarity Act and increasing scrutiny of the crypto industry.
