The Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) launched the Rollup X development testnet (devnet) at Devcon 8 to demonstrate synchronous composability. EEZ, initiated by Gnosis and Zisk and funded by the Ethereum Foundation, aims to connect private chain applications through Ethereum-neutral infrastructure, enabling atomic cross-chain execution. The network supports cross-rollup or Ethereum mainnet contract calls within a single transaction, using ETH as the default gas token and without introducing new tokens.
