HSBC Group Chief Executive Officer John A. J. Edwards said that HSBC plans to establish a global AI and emerging technology research institute in Hong Kong in 2027 to cultivate technology and talent in the fields of artificial intelligence, blockchain and quantum cryptography. Standard Chartered CEO Bill Winters stated that the market needs to leverage the potential of digital currencies and tokenized assets such as stablecoins and tokenized deposits, and strengthen interoperable market infrastructure and regulatory frameworks. Franklin Templeton CEO Jean-Michel Barnier stated that blockchain and tokenized money market funds have the potential to improve payment and settlement efficiency. Pakistani Minister of State and Chairman of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, Bilal Bin Saqib, stated that it is crucial to integrate digital asset activities into a safe and regulated environment.
