Crypto investor Evan Luthra was kidnapped in the UK, losing over $2 million. He has confirmed being kidnapped and robbed in Oxford, UK in November 2025. Five masked men forced him to hand over over $2 million in crypto assets and a watch. The attackers withdrew over $1.5 million from his Binance account and transferred approximately $600,000 in ETH from his Gate account. Luthra stated that Binance and MEXC assisted in freezing some of the funds, and nearly $1 million has been recovered so far, with Binance returning approximately $370,000. The trial, originally scheduled for this month, has been postponed to November 2027.
