A report released by Microsoft on the 29th revealed that North Korean hacking groups are leveraging AI to enhance the efficiency of their cyberattacks, including mass-producing phishing documents, fake job postings, and assisting in the development of malicious code. Microsoft assessed eight North Korean-related hacking groups, three of which have integrated AI into their daily attack processes. Between August and September this year, one group customized and generated over 100 PDF decoy documents; from June 8th to 12th, hackers used three masquerading companies to send fake job offers to professionals in AI, blockchain, and cybersecurity. Furthermore, Onyx Sleet and Pearl Sleet have been using the open-source AI penetration testing framework ARTEX in real-world scenarios since late October. (Source: Yonhap News Agency)
