BNB Chain incorporates the BEP-706 proposal, enabling smart contracts to read millisecond-level timestamps.
The Jenner hard fork of BNB Chain incorporates the BEP-706 proposal, enabling smart contracts to read the millisecond-level timestamp of the current block by adding a pre-compiled contract located at address 0x70. BEP-706 allows developers to obtain the number of milliseconds since the Unix epoch, improving the accuracy of timed signature quotes, auction deadlines, and price oracle update timeliness checks, without affecting the existing second-level return mechanism of block.timestamp.
