Bittensor has launched a quantum-resistant wallet that supports three post-quantum signature schemes: ML-DSA-65, Falcon-512, and Falcon-1024. ML-DSA-65 has been standardized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The wallet supports both cold and hot keys, covering operations such as TAO transfers, staking, and validator weight settings. The wallet offers an optional automatic key rotation feature. Once a user-signed transaction is recorded on-chain, the wallet will automatically switch to the new signing key. The old key can no longer authorize transactions for that account. The account address, balance, and staking remain unchanged, and there is no need to change the mnemonic phrase. Quantum-resistant wallets without key rotation do not require registration, while those with key rotation enabled require registration and a one-time permanent lock of 0.2 TAO. Existing wallet users can migrate funds and staking to the new account via transfer or cold key swap.

BNB Chain announced that BEP-706 has been incorporated into the Jenner hard fork upgrade, which will provide millisecond-level block timestamps to smart contracts through a new pre-compiled contract deployed at address 0x70. Developers can read the millisecond-level timestamps through the new interface, while the existing second-level timing logic of block.timestamp remains unchanged. This feature supports sub-second precision applications such as bid settlement with validity periods of only a few hundred milliseconds, auction deadline checks, and price oracle data update timeliness checks. The computation cost of the new pre-compiled contract is 20 Gas; calls incur corresponding call and memory costs. BNB Chain reminds developers to ensure consistency between seconds and milliseconds and to check if the call was successful and if the expected 32 bytes of data were returned.

Ethereum Discovers Smart Contract Compatibility Risk, Suspends Hoodi Testnet Hard Fork Ethereum developer Marius van der Wijden stated that security auditing firm ChainSecurity discovered that some projects rely on gas billing invariants that have become invalid due to the failure of EIP-8037 and EIP-8038 proposals in the Glamsterdam upgrade, causing smart contract compatibility issues. Ethereum core developers have decided to suspend the Hoodi testnet hard fork until the issue is resolved. The development team is collaborating with multiple auditing firms to conduct security checks and is urging smart contract developers to investigate the affected areas to assess whether adjustments to upgrade specifications are necessary.
