The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has stated its inability to support the current draft bill on the regulation of virtual assets, arguing that it jeopardizes Ukraine's monetary sovereignty, financial stability, and market competition. The NBU supports regulating the cryptocurrency market under the EU's MiCA framework and has objected to the content of the draft submitted for its second reading. The NBU stated that the final text was delivered on the evening of November 4th, and several compromises reached between the working group, lawmakers, and the National Securities and Stock Market Committee of Ukraine (NSSMC) were removed. NBU Deputy Governor Oleksiy Shaban raised concerns at the committee meeting, but the meeting format failed to support a comprehensive discussion. The NBU warned that the draft bill could allow foreign tokens to enter the Ukrainian market in the absence of adequate regulation and leave loopholes for issuers to circumvent requirements. The draft bill leaves the number of platforms approved to operate over the next five years to the NSSMC and lacks safeguards to prevent anti-competitive behavior. The NBU called for transparent licensing rules to be enshrined in law and urged lawmakers to revise the draft bill in consultation with relevant parties. (Source: Bitcoin.com News)

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics revised its August nonfarm payrolls figure upward to 186,000 from an increase of 133,000, an increase of 53,000; and its September nonfarm payrolls figure upward to 60,000 from an increase of 29,000, an increase of 31,000. The revised figure shows that nonfarm payrolls increased by a total of 84,000 in August and September. AI Interpretation: The significant upward revision of the employment data completely reversed previous market concerns about a cooling labor market, directly demonstrating the strong resilience of the US economy during the tightening cycle. This revision eliminated concerns about a short-term deterioration in employment, forcing the market to reassess the risk of an overheated economy. The Federal Reserve will have more confidence to maintain high interest rates in subsequent decisions, significantly reducing the urgency of a rate cut. This strong employment performance directly supported the dollar exchange rate and exerted sustained upward pressure on US Treasury yields.

US October non-farm payroll data exceeded expectations, causing spot gold to plunge by more than $30 in the short term, currently trading at $4042 per ounce. AI Interpretation: The strong performance of the job market directly shattered market expectations of an economic slowdown, and the continued robust demand for labor provides solid support for the Federal Reserve to maintain its high-interest-rate policy. This data significantly weakens the necessity for a rate cut in the short term, prompting funds to withdraw from safe-haven assets. The US dollar index received a strong boost, which in turn put direct downward pressure on gold prices. The market is repricing the path of monetary policy, and the expectation of a continued high-interest-rate environment will continue to exert downward pressure on the precious metals market.
