Cboe has joined the Capital Markets Alliance in filing a lawsuit against the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) challenging its approval of perpetual derivatives for individual U.S. stocks. Members of the Capital Markets Alliance include Cboe, Citadel Securities, and the Healthy Markets Association. The alliance has filed its lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking to overturn the approvals, determine that such products are security-based swaps, and prohibit the approvals from taking effect during the litigation process.
