Goldman Sachs in talks with Apollo to sell approximately $40 billion of its chip financing stake in SpaceX.

--

Goldman Sachs and Apollo Global Management are in talks with investors to sell a portion of SpaceX's approximately $40 billion chip financing deal, with some investors being asked to subscribe for up to $500 million before the formal syndicated loan process begins. The debt includes an $8.3 billion senior secured loan and multiple bonds. Goldman Sachs is leading the loan portion, Apollo is the lead investor in the bonds, and Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) is also involved. This funding, along with a $7 billion upfront lease payment, will be used to purchase approximately $47.3 billion worth of Nvidia Rubin chips, with delivery expected in the first half of 2027. SpaceX will lease these chips under a five-year agreement. (Source: Bloomberg)
